Overview of Associate Nursing Program

The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Ohio University-Chillicothe has been in existence since 1993. The program is fully approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the Ohio Board of Regents, and is accredited by the National League of Nursing. Classes are admitted for Fall Quarter and Spring Quarter of each year

Graduates of this program are prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) which leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  Graduates of this nursing program may choose to enter the Bachelor of Science in Nursing for two additional years.  This program is also offered on the Chillicothe Campus.



Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission, a student must be a high school graduate or have completed the requirements of the GED. Students not meeting these requirements should contact the Nursing Director at Ohio University-Chillicothe for further information concerning admission.

  • A high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or established college GPA of 2.75 is expected. To be reviewed by the selection committee, you must have completed courses in biology, algebra, and chemistry at the high school or college level with a grade of ‘C-’ or better in each course.
  • All students are required to take the ACT COMPASS examination and achieve qualifying scores before admission to the nursing program.
  • All Students must submit to the nursing office a statement of educational career goals.
  • Complete and return the nursing postcard
