The College Board AP Fellows Program awards scholarships to secondary
school teachers who will teach AP courses in schools that serve
economically disadvantaged students or traditionally underrepresented
minority students. College Board AP Fellows recipients will be offered a
scholarship of $1,000 to attend a College Board- Endorsed AP Summer
Institute during the summer of 2012. The scholarships assist teachers
with the costs (e.g., registration fees and travel expenses) of
attending a weeklong APSI for professional development. College Board AP
Fellows scholarships cannot be used to attend the AP Annual Conference,
to participate in one-or two-day workshops, or to purchase classroom
materials.
To qualify for a College Board AP Fellows scholarship, a candidate
must plan to teach an AP or Pre-AP course during the 2012-13 academic
year at a secondary school that meets at least one of the following
requirements:
· Has 50 percent or more traditionally underrepresented
minority students (African American, Hispanic or Native American).
OR
· Has 50 percent or more students who qualify for free or
reduced-price meals.
The College Board AP Fellows Program is a competitive scholarship
program. Only applicants who meet one or both of the above criteria will
be considered. If you require additional information on the AP Fellows
Program, please email cbequity@collegeboard.org.
