Faculty / Staff News - January 2007
Margaret McAdams and
Barbara Trube escorted 21 Ohio University students to Italy this
past December. Students toured Reggio Emilia, Parma, Bologna, Venice and
Florence. A presentation about the Study Abroad course will be presented on
February 14, 2007 in Room 134. Faculty and students are invited to attend.
Students were asked to complete an evaluation
upon returning from the trip. A few of the responses include:
-
I really enjoyed the artwork and museums.
It gave me a better understanding of the arts.
-
Italy is a beautiful country and I'm so
thankful that I got to experience it during the holiday season. This is
a perfect time of year to go.
-
The trip was a wonderful experience. I
have never been out of the country and this was an eye opener of an
experience, which left me with a real understanding of another culture
and how different things are beyond the United States boundaries. I
felt that everywhere I went I saw some kind of art formation, whether is
was the architecture, paintings, sculpture, or even the people. I found
the people to live a much more laid-back, relaxed way of life. It was a
culture shock for me to come home, but this trip opened my eyes to many
things that go on around me every day that I haven't noticed before.
-
The entire trip was incredible and an
experience of a lifetime. I have so many memories to choose from and
the only difficulty I had was trying to describe this experience to
others. I felt like Dr. Trube and Ms. McAdams were exceptional and
tried to encourage all the students to reach their full capacity
including the museums and the ReMida Center. The food was wonderful and
impossible to duplicate in the States.
